Brand Spotlight: Old Gringo
When we’re looking for a distinct boot, something that makes a statement, Old Gringo is always at the forefront of thought. Pushing the envelope of western wear, Old Gringo boots are “designer western” perfection.
Established in 2000, the Old Gringo brand may be one of the youngest around but the craftsmanship behind the brand comes from years of expertise. Ernie Tarut (the “Old Gringo”) and Yan Ferry joined forces to create this unmistakable brand. Tarut with 30 years of leather manufacturing, and Ferry with a history of European design and boot making, it’s no surprise the Old Gringo brand covers every base— Vintage, Contemporary, Rock Star and European Style, using every modern styling technique— including stitch, studs, and leather work.
Another unmistakable feature of Old Gringo boots is the craftsmanship. Each pair is 100% handmade by one of the 250 artists at the factory in Leon, Mexico. It’s the skill and craftsmanship that make Old Gringo a lifestyle brand, not just a boot manufacturer.
Crossing fashion with western can be a challenge. Fortunately for us, it’s a challenge at which Old Gringo succeeds! (Wouldn’t you agree?) The distinct combination of vintage charm and contemporary style means you can always tell an Old Gringo just by looking at it.
As Ernie Tarut said, “It is and always will be about making the right pair of boots. You know those boots you always turn to and never want to take off?” We know those boots— and we couldn’t agree more!
