What’s a trip to Texas without taking a dip in a swimming hole?! We have just the one!

Just upstream from where the Pedernales River meets Hamilton Creek, the creek overflows, spilling out over a limestone outcropping. This 50 foot drop creates a waterfall during the rainy season, feeding into the Hamilton Pool! Home to a diverse variety of vegetation and wildlife, the entire Preserve is a 232-acre piece of a 30,000-acre system of endangered species habitat.

In an effort to maintain the delicate balance of wildlife and integrity of the environment, the number of visitors allowed in the preserve is limited during peak months. (Be sure to take a look at their website before heading out!) While this protects the environment, limiting the number of visitors also guarantees an intimate experience once inside the grounds. Nature at its very best!
